  • Summarises sources using a selected local or external language model.
  • Saves research as JSON and loads previous results for follow-up questions.
  • Makes its research functions available to AI agents through its own MCP server.

Coverage

Dataset

Results from external darknet search engines and the pages read from those results. No regional dataset of its own.

Access

Installation and deployment

Locally installable · Self-hosted

Docker starts its own Streamlit web interface on port 8501. The MCP server runs separately over local standard input/output.

Requirements

Your own Docker installation, a running Tor service and a language model. External models require a provider key; Ollama can run locally. MCP uses the connected agent’s model.

Export

Saved research as JSON; results can be reloaded in the web interface.

API

Not documented. No public API of its own is described in the reviewed README and release documentation. External language model APIs provide access to models.

MCP

Available. Its own MCP server over stdio; setup is covered in the Robin as MCP section.

AI agents

Available. Its own MCP server for AI agents that support MCP. Research uses the agent’s model.

Limitations

  • Results depend on the search engines integrated and the pages that are reachable.
  • When external language models are used, queries and content are sent to their providers; these connections do not use Tor.
